ABOUT US
Lessons at Bear Mountain Art Studio are led by artist Nancy J. Wurz. She will customize your art lessons around your needs, whether you are a novice who has never picked up a paintbrush or a seasoned artist in search of new inspiration. Arrange individual or group sessions by the hour at Nancy's studio, located in the Poconos, a place of natural and historical splendor in northeastern Pennsylvania.

To encourage the artist in all of us
Artist Nancy J. Wurz is the force behind Bear Mountain Art Studio. She believes art is all around us, and she opened her art studio in 2017 to share her love of art with others. Nancy is a versatile artist with more than five decades of experience in a variety of mediums, from ink to pastel to acrylic. Her medium of choice is watercolor—a form often described as difficult to master, but ideal for capturing the beauty of nature. Nancy received instruction at Munson Williams Proctor Arts Institute starting at a young age and earned an art scholarship from Marywood University.

Pencil drawing is essential to master on the journey to other mediums. You will learn about perspective, horizon line, and composition with Nancy, who sees pencil drawing as the first step to building a foundation as a well-rounded artist.
